2017 Annual General Meeting

Last minute reminder that our AGM is on tomorrow night - Tuesday 4 April commencing 7pm at the Beecroft Bowling Club at 128 Copeland Rd  (next to Beecroft Public School). We have an interesting agenda planned including ideas on how to best utilise the funds from the Cheltenham Church and we look forward to hearing from local Police.
There will be an opportunity for residents to renew their Trust membership and nominate for election on the committee.
All are welcome.
Council Amalgamation

Residents are no doubt aware of the latest court decision that has prevented the amalgamation proceeding. Our understanding is that the court decision will simply delay the process.  Hornsby Council, with its current reduced boundaries, is financially weaker with the loss of the residents south of the M2 to the new Parramatta Council. So it is unlikely that Hornsby Council will be able to remain as is.  The Trust understands that, with so much uncertainty at the moment, Hornsby Council may be required to have an election in September 2017.   In the meantime new Ward boundaries have been created with Cherrybrook now part of the new C Ward.

Autumn Walk on May 21

Please note in your diary that the Trust’s Autumn will be held on Sunday May 21 commencing 2pm at the end of Welham Street. Similar to last year’s autumn walk that was cut short because of rain, this year we intend to visit Cheltenham Oval and update attendees on the plans for the oval facilities and the access track that links Kirkham Street.  We also want to inspect the recent track work and bush regeneration sites.   Afternoon tea will be provided back upon return to Welham Street at about 4.pm.  Further reminders will be sent out as we get closer to the date.
Metro Northwest Night Work at Cheltenham Oval

From April 3 there will be movement of oversized vehicles at night during the week for the next six months. The vehicles will be using the Kirkham Street entrance to access the Cheltenham Oval service facility.
